Successful Start for the Kahuku Elementary School Walking/Jogging Club!

Kahuku Elementary School has had a total of 145 students sign up for the first walking/jogging club. They are out on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15 am to 7:35 am walking laps. Students with consistent attendance to the club earn themselves a field trip to the Makapu‘u light house trail as a reward for their exercise (picture above). Students were also able to contribute acccumulated laps to their class.

The class with the most laps/miles was the 4th grade with 1,547 laps/193.4 miles. In 2nd place was the 6th grade with 1,543 laps/192.9 miles and in 3rd place was 3rd grade with 1,154 laps/144.25 miles.

Kahuku Elementary School is already planning next year's walking/jogging club and rewards.
