Kentucky is First State to Require Water Bottle Filling Stations in Schools
This past school year, Kentucky became the first state to implement water bottle filling stations into newly constructed schools. This move will aslo apply to any current schools with upcoming modernization projects.
One water bottle filling station is required for every 75 building occupants, which roughly means two stations per school. Kentucky will have more than 650,000 students using the water bottle filling stations.
When kids have access to water, they are more likely to choose water in the long term for their hydrating needs. When kids are hydrated and choose water over other beverages, they are more likely to maintain a healhty weight.
