Hundreds Assemble for Walk With a Doc Events in Hilo
Over the last few months, hundreds have gathered for the weekly Walk With a Doc (WWAD) events at the Liliuokalani Gardens in Hilo, Hawaii. Every Sunday morning at 8 a.m. either a doctor or medical student leads the group through a warm-up and stretch while also providing information about the benefits of walking. One of the main benefits highlighted by the WWAD group include cutting risk factors for heart disease. The American Heart Association states that even moderate-level activities, such as walking, offer health benefits.
