Early Childhood Physical Activity Linked to Heart Disease Protection Later in Life
Research points to early childhood physical activity as the determinant for heart health.
In the July 2019 Pediatrics article:
Over four hundred 3-to-5 year-old children were assessed over a three year period to determine these findings: children slowed the hardening of their arteries with moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. "The protective effects of physical activity on heart health begin in early childhood and may carry over into childhood and adulthood."
