Castle Medical Center's "Soil to Soul" Food Day event Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, brought together physicians, community nutrition specialists and farming professionals to educate the community on the correlation between the food they eat, how that food is grown, and their health. In addition to the informative and lively panel discussion, the event included exhibits, a farmer's market, food samples, home garden starter kits and entertainment. The Hawai'i Dietetic Association, Waimanalo Country Farms, the Waimanalo Seventh-day Adventist Church and Sweet Annie partnered in the event.
